Responds to an emergency call, assesses the situation, obtains a basic medical history and physical examination of the patient, and provides emergency care at the scene and during transit to the hospital. Utilizes necessary medical equipment to treat the patient and ascertains the extent of their injuries or illness. Communicates with the paramedic and the Medical Officer about the patient's condition, status, and arrival time.

Requires a high school diploma, NREMT or state licensure equivalent and 2-4 years of related experience. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within an EMS Operations. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.

Job ID: Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic Location: Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan Category: Medical Services                     Position Type: Full Time Contract Length: Short and Long Term Assignments available Salary: Open                              Security Clearance: Secret Requirement:  NREMT registration required for Kuwait Assignments   Responsible for OCONUS based operational support of assigned contracts for Comprehensive Health Services, Inc.   I. Principal Responsibilities of the Classification:   Performs many of the following responsibilities:   1. Provides health care services to patients under the direction and responsibility of a Physician, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner 2. Examines patients, performs physical exams, and compiles medical data, including health history. 3. Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, management of infection, EKG's, etc. 4. Renders direct patient care, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, prescribing pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment of health problems, health promotion, and preventative care. 5. Applies scientific knowledge to human treatment responses to actual or potential health problems 6. Documents and maintains patient records of services. 7. Coordinates treatment plan with medical preceptor, other caregivers on-site, or CHS Medical Director as appropriate 8. Participates in employee training and orientation programs 9. Plans and prepares for aeromedical evacuation missions. 10. Coordinates with operational mission planners for the safe evacuation of the patients from the originating facility to the destination facility 11. Provides medical attendance if required.   II. Special Knowledge/Skills Required:   1. Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs 2. Experience in providing medically related class presentations concerning emergency trauma care     III. Education Required:   Graduate of a military medic program (e.g. 18D, or IDMT), civilian EMT-P certification program with >2years of clinical experience in diagnosis and treatment of trauma and routine illnesses     IV. Desired Experience:   1. 5-7 years experience in the medical field as an EMT, or medic (this will be evaluated on an individual basis)   2. Experience on deployed contingency operations or similar medical experience
